I don't normally download short stories, but I was intrigued by Linell Jeppson's review of Meet My Shorts! (A Series of Short Stories)and thought, "why not?". The stories range from comedic to dramatic to chilling -- quite an eclectic group of tales. Each story drew me in with it's style and unique plot, but two of the stories, "Hide and Seek" and "The Beast" were extremely compelling. Any parent who has ever had a young child walk away from them in a public place will feel Nathan's panic in "Hide and Seek". "The Beast" had a twist that left me with my heart in my throat.Lloyd is most definitely a master story teller, luring the reader in with his words, then jarring them with his twists of plot. I look forward to more of his offerings.

I git this book for my birthday and love it.
Hide and seek made me want to cry. The one where the guy pressuring the man and his daughter into their belief? I lol'd
I did go into this book with mild reservations since shorts generally aren't my thing but this was excellently done.

I have to say that this work of short stories by J Bryden Lloyd was most interesting! There was a little of everything. I was captivated more and more by each story! Each plot was well defined! I have never been interested in short stories before, but Meet My Shorts totally changed my opinion!
I would reccommend this collection of Awesome Shorts to any and everyone! My favorite Short was The Beast followed by Hide and Seek! Definately a must read!
Meet my Shorts! 5 Stars! A resounding Huzzah!
I recently downloaded a short story by a VERY famous author, called Mile 81. I was so disappointed! Normally, this author evokes SOME response from me- horror certainly, nervous anxiety, admiration...but it seemed that this short story was passion-less...almost robotic in the telling.
Not so, with J. Bryden Lloyd's new compilation of short stories called, Meet My Shorts! From the first offering; a poem called, "Winter Walk" that resonates with tenderness, love and loss to the hilarious, "Can I?"
The ghost story entitled, "Hide and Seek" is one of the best I've ever read, and "The Beast" has a gorgeous trick ending that is usually reserved for only master story crafters...
I am convinced that Mr. Lloyd is rapidly entering this realm of exalted story-telling. He tells his stories with a quick wit, humble humor, and a passion for writing that evokes an emotional response in the reader, that is sadly lacking in some of our more recognizable published names.
I HIGHLY recommend, Meet my Shorts, and thank Mr. Lloyd for yet another fine addition-

Just about anyone will find stories that they will enjoy in this collection in my opinion, Bryden can definitely tell a good yarn or two. There are stories that should probably should have been at some point Twilight Zone episodes. There are short stories that will have you rolling and I now seriously want a pressure washer if I ever have annoying people come around more often then I want them too. Also included is a bit of sci-fi which I am not so much into but the short in this book I enjoyed nonetheless. All are quite well written and I found them all to be very entertaining reading and consider them to be a must read. Worth every penny.
